The Cobb New Horizons Symphonic Band—one of the nation’s largest and most active New Horizons ensembles—invites applications for Director of Symphonic Band. Serving nearly 100 adult musicians across the greater Atlanta area, the ensemble is dedicated to lifelong learning, musical excellence, and community engagement.
The Director serves as the artistic leader of the ensemble, providing strong musical direction, selecting repertoire, fostering a positive and encouraging rehearsal environment, and collaborating with the Board and volunteers to support the organization’s mission.
Qualifications include: – Bachelor’s degree in Music or related field (Master’s preferred) – Conducting experience with concert bands, wind ensembles, or community ensembles – Strong knowledge of wind band literature and rehearsal pedagogy – Excellent communication and leadership skills – Experience working with adult or volunteer musicians preferred
Rehearsals are held Mondays, 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. in Kennesaw, GA, with additional performances and events throughout the year.
